Cropping and Resizing Images

The image of the street at Hunter was cropped to a 5 x 7 format. I chose this image because I felt it was one of the strongest photos I took, as it clearly captures a winter vibe. The muted colors, overcast sky, and traces of snow help create a cold and calm atmosphere that reflects the season. The surrounding buildings act as a natural frame, while the street and traffic lead the viewer's eye deeper into the image, creating a sense of depth and movement. Cropping the image allowed me to focus more on the street and overall environment, removing distractions and strengthening the composition.

For the second image, I chose the hallway photograph because it gave me a warm, academic feeling. The repetition of the ceiling lights and arches creates strong symmetry and rhythm, which naturally draws the viewer's eye down the hallway. I adjusted the tonal range by darkening the image to improve contrast and enhance the warm tones, which adds to the cozy and inviting atmosphere. These adjustments help emphasize the lighting and depth of the space, making the image feel more intentional and visually engaging.
